ABOUT MICHI

MICHI began with something I couldn't find.

I've loved Japan for years. Its language, its culture, its creativity, and its beauty have been a meaningful part of my life. At the same time, my faith in Christ has always been the foundation of who I am.
I wanted clothing that represented both.

I searched for Japanese-inspired Christian apparel that carried the same passion and intentionality that I felt for the two things closest to my heart. While I found pieces here and there, I couldn't find designs that felt like they truly captured the weight and meaning behind them.
So I decided to create what I had been looking for.

The first MICHI design was never made with the intention of becoming a brand. It was made because it mattered to me. Every detail was carefully considered because the message behind it deserved more than something rushed or ordinary.

MICHI is a reminder that Jesus is the true Way. He is the reason behind everything we create and the message we hope every design points toward.

After countless revisions, I realized that maybe I wasn't the only person looking for apparel that brought together a love for Japan and a love for Christ in a way that felt authentic, creative, and purposeful.

The name MICHI comes from the Japanese word 道, meaning "the way." It is the same word used in Japanese translations of Jesus' words in John 14:6:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life."

MICHI was created from that desire: to make clothing that reflects a love for Christ, a love for Japan, and a hope that every design can point beyond itself.
